James Salter was the founder and former CEO and Chairman of Atlantic Engineering Group (AEG), a design & build firm specializing in Fiber to the Home projects, which included over 65 builds and 2,800,000 homes passed, with a quarter of their projects having a significant electrical Smart Grid component as part of the business case.

Prior to founding AEG, and after graduating from Georgia Tech with an Electrical Engineering degree, James spent 15 years in the electric utility business and was the President & General Manager of an electric utility.

James has a proven track record in building companies and providing leadership and direction for many others.  He founded and was the principal financier of Atlantic Fiber Networks, a dark fiber optic network company which built and owned networks in multiple states throughout the U.S. prior to selling it to The Wyyerd Group in 2018.  James also currently serves on the Board of Directors of three broadband related, privately held companies – On Trac, Inc (a broadband fulfillment services company based in TN); Y-Com, LLC (a broadband design & construction company based in FL); and ITC Broadband Holdings, LLC (an ISP holding company based in GA).

James Salter also served as the very first Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fiber Broadband Association (formerly the FTTH Council NA) and has been involved in the fiber broadband industry for over 20 years.
